The beginning of River Side was just a "small" hobby of retraining and repurposing horses that turned into a life long career and life style. Gerry and Kaley started River Side from the ground up themselves, with a goal to train and provide fun, affordable, and safe horses for the general public. Kaley began riding at a young age, frequenting the hunter/jumper ring with her little paint pony, Flicka. Growing up she never really settled into one discipline, she always wanted to see more! Today, Kaley is well versed in both English and Western disciplines after having so many opportunities to ride and learn under multiple trainers! She now enjoys Fox Hunting with her horse, Lakoda, and everyone at River Side can attest to her daredevil stunts while trail riding. She specializes in equine physiology/problem horses and is constantly growing her wealth of knowledge to better herself as well as her her horses and is always jumping at opportunities to work with trainers and rescues! Gerry wasn't always a horse person, but he quickly fell into it when he met Kaley! When you meet Gerry and Kaley, you can quickly see that they work together as an exceptional team. Where one persons talents end, the others begin! Gerry enjoys trial riding on his Quarter Horse, Goose, and is known to have a keen eye for horses as well as an exceptional knowledge and skill in farrier work. Not to mention his trailer backing skills, we'll admit they are impressive. You may not see Gerry all the time due to his full time job, but undeniably he's a huge part of the team! Outside of the barn, they enjoy spending time with their sons, hiking with their Cattle Dog, Grizzly, kayaking, traveling, attending sporting events and visiting craft breweries.
